Cake Balls aka Cake Pops

So before it got too hot today i decided i wanted us to make a snack because well i wanted cake and chocolate but thought why not try something new ?? My thoughts were something neat for the kids. Well before i post the recipe i will just give you my review.

It is extremely easy to do, very cheap and well my son did enjoy it but i on the other hand, hmm little messy. The texture was just too weird for me. The taste was fine as long as it had a lot of chocolate on it. You will not find any fancy pictures or writing for this recipe because well.... i am a straight to the point kind of gal ;)
Recipe:
  • 1 Cake Mix and ingredients to make cake
  • 1 Can of frosting
Prepare:
  • Make & bake cake as directed
Once Baked:
  • Crumble the cake in a bowl once it is cooled
  • Add can of frosting & mix together until smooth
  • Finally roll into balls and freeze for 1 hour
  • Then melt chocolate and dip balls into chocolate
  • Once set you can eat
Cost Breakdown:
1 cake mix $0.75
1 can of frosting $0.49
Oil, Egg, Cooking Spray costs $0.32
1 bag chocolate chips $2.99 ( did not buy when on sale and no coupons)
Total Cost $4.55
(will not come out of budget because it has already been deducted)
So you could make this cheaper if you buy your baking chips on sale and use a coupon

Cake pops are the best when you buy the candy melts from Michael's. Melt them and roll the cake ball in it, that is the best way to eat them!!
