Join Me This Month And Try To Give For Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is the special time of year when friends and family get together, eat and mingle. What if you were broke and could not do that ? There are some families who will not get a meal for this special holiday.

Since in the holiday it's self has the word GIVING, can i suggest that you give a little to someone who is perhaps needing a little something extra for this holiday ? This is what i am doing...

Since i can not give any $ myself due to our financial situation i am putting together a holiday box and Giving it to the local pantry. In this box i will try to include everything possible to make someone have a happy Thanksgiving meal. The hardest part will be to get the turkey but as you know i am a bargain hunter and will find the best deal i can.

So in your regular shopping trips if you see a little something that does not cost much or is FREE why not just buy that and make a little Thanksgiving meal box yourself to donate to the pantry of your choice ?

I will post as my box gets updated and include the deals i did and pics too. Giving a little may not seem like a lot to some, BUT believe me a little does go a long way. If you do join in feel free to send me your pics as well. I will post them here for you.

Operation Others, and organization of nine Omaha Catholic High Schools working to feed over 1,600 families during Christmas time, could really use these type of donations. Hundreds of high school students work together to purchase about two weeks worth of food for each family. They are in need of non-perishable food and 1,600 turkeys. They have a turkey drop off day, Saturday, November 20. You can drop off a turkey of any brand/size at Creighton Prep East Parking Lot, Skutt Catholic High School Parking Lot and GolfTec Parking Lot from 9 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. For more information, visit the website at: http://creightonprep.creighton.edu/page.cfm?p=2115
