The Omaha Nighthawks will hold a mini-camp and fan fest from July 23 through 25, giving local football fans their first look at some of the players who will represent Omaha when the United Football League season kicks off in September.
The fan fest, which starts at 10 a.m. on July 24 at Papillion-La Vista High School, gives Nighthawks fans the opportunity to meet players, coaches and cheerleaders and get autographs. In addition, there will be a radio broadcast, a DJ, face painting, clowns and food available from Godfather’s Pizza.
Among the Nighthawks stars taking part will be former Husker and Green Bay Packer Ahman Green; wide receiver Craphonso Thorpe, who was among the candidates for the UFL Player of the Season with the New York Sentinels in 2009; and former Tennessee Titans and Oakland Raiders defensive back Tony Dorsett Jr.
Media and Nighthawks fans are invited to attend Fan Fest and the 10 a.m. Saturday morning practice. The rest of the practices are closed.

Fans can park on the north side of the field near the activities. Papillion-La Vista High School is at 402 E. Centennial Road just east of 84th Street.
