Question #1 From Readers ?

Question: Do i buy something just because it is FREE ?

Answer: NO

I actually discourage people from buying items just because it is free. I always say just like any other big purchase, ask your self these questions....

Can i use it ?

Can someone i know use it ?

Can i donate it to the shelter ?

Do i really need it ?

If you answered NO to those questions then don't buy it. It is just going to sit there and no one can use it, or possibly expire.

MY RULE when buying an item:
Can i use this within a years time ? Will it store for 1 year ? If i can not then i skip on it. I saw on someone's website that she said: She does not have a DISHWASHER but yet she bought 50 boxes of gel pacs, etc. Well why buy it if you have nothing to do w/ it ?

I am sure she had to pay tax on it, that is wasted money. I don't know what her tax is but in my state it is 7% So that means if i bought each pack for $2.00 and used the $2 coupon on the item i would still pay that tax. Tax on $2.00 here would be 14
¢ per box. Now times that by 50 boxes, it equals $7.00
So just because it is FREE it may not really be free.

I agree with this, I pick up some free items because they pay me or to get up to a dollar amount like $4 off of $20. This is why I made gift bags for my neighbors of the free items I've gotten that aren't any use to me or I simply have too much of them, plus I put them in a reusable grocery bag to encourage my neighbors to be more green. Some of the items were food, but they weren't all bad, for example I put in some of the energy saver light bulbs I got for free from Ace Hardware. It's good to spread some joy, especially with all the financial issues that are going around.
