Yesterday Was A Better Day
I was a nervous wreck yesterday between my son getting his tonsils out and my husband. My sons surgery went well. He was back home before 12pm. Last night was a little rough for him but i think he is going to be fine. His problem is... he don't want to STOP for anything.
My husband had even good news. He went to the spine specialist, they told him that the other doctor had miss diagnosed him. He does not have a Blood Clot! He has a herniated disk. That was much better news than a blood clot. Surgery will still have to be done, but at least we are not in a life threatening situation as we had thought.

Post Updates
Just thought i would pop on here to post a quick little note. My son has his surgery tomorrow am for tonsils, adenoids and tubes. So i may not be able to post a lot tomorrow. My husband was also told that he has a blood clot on his spine. So, that is what is going on in my life right now. We didn't tell the kids yet until we know all the details from the spine specialist. Which my husband will see the specialist tomorrow.
So a little stressed right now. Once i know an update on my husband i will let you all know. Thanks , Laura

Deceptively Delicious... What the heck is that ?
So i spotted a book at the library, yep i am one who still enjoys the good old library compared to an electronic device. Anyhow, this book read Deceptively Delicious, and i remembered that i had wanted to read this book a long time ago, but just forgot about it.
I go through the pages and i am reading some weird recipes but i also thought well we will try and see what happens. I know my family needs to eat better, but most of the time we just can not afford to. Last night i made deceptively delicious hamburgers #1 recipe. It just seemed weird to add carrots mixed in my hamburgers. Let me tell you this recipe made moist and yummy hamburgers. I grilled them instead of frying them like the recipe suggested. My George grill sucked out 31 Teaspoons of grease from 2 lbs of hamburger meat. I had used 90% lean as well.
So what is the purpose of this post ? I just wanted to share that trying something new may seem scary but at least you tried and no one died from eating it ;)
Deceptively Delicious Hamburgers #1 Recipe
1/2 lb lean ground turkey or Sirloin (i used 1 1/2 lbs)
1/2 C bread crumbs ( i used much less)
1/2 C Cauliflower or Carrot Puree (i used carrot)
1/4 C Skim milk
2 Tbsp. Low Sodium Soy Sauce ( i used worchestire sauce, i hate soy sauce)
2 cloves of garlic chopped
1/8 tsp pepper
I then mixed all together and formed into patties. Once grill was hot i placed on grill and cooked until no longer pink. Cost for this meal was around $5. I had some of the items on hand.

Yummy & Fatty Breakfast
This is what we ate for breakfast this am. Bag N Save had Crescents on sale for $0.99
We bought 2 = $1.98 We already had butter, cinnamon, powder sugar on had so we had cinnamon crescents. They were yummy!

Quick, Easy & Cheap Dinner
This was tonight's dinner, nothing spectacular, but it was food for us to eat and it tasted pretty good.
Ingredients:
1 Garlic Texas Toast
1 jar of pizza sauce (you really only need a few tablespoons)
1 Pack of your favorite sandwich cheese
1 Pack of pepperoni
Take a piece of the garlic bread and spread sauce on it. Then add pepperoni and cheese. Last we grilled it in the panini grill. Grill until bread starts to brow and is heated through.
Our cost for this meal was: $6.07 and we have leftover items to use again for other meals or snacks.
Bakers Shopping Trip 1/07/12
Went to Bakers tonight and they had a bunch of produce on clearance. Just not any my family would eat. They had salad bags, veggie trays on clearance. I found chicken leg quarters for less that $2.40 a pack. So if your headed to Bakers might want to check those things out.
